This video details the School District of Washington’s “Proposition R” – Right Now For Children ballot initiative to be decided by voters in the April 2, 2013, election.
If Question 1 of Proposition R is approved, the $9 Million No Tax Rate Increase proposal would include:
- Wireless infrastructure throughout the District
- Construction of an early childhood center (West campus)
- HVAC upgrade at Augusta Elementary and additional classrooms at Marthasville Elementary
If Question 2 of Proposition R is approved, the $40 Million $0.25 Tax Rate Increase proposal would include:
- Construction of a new 6-8 grade middle school
- School within a school design
- Grade level wings
- Classroom pods limiting travel between classes
- Cooperative learning
- Interdisciplinary teaming
- Current middle school would become an elementary school
